A l’hôpital, un sexisme tellement banal
Le sexisme en milieu hospitalier est un phénomène massif, omniprésent et… banal.
«C’est simple, je ne peux même pas me souvenir de la blague sexiste qui m’a le plus choquée.
Il y en a tellement qu’on finit par ne plus relever››, lâche une étudiante en sixième année de 24 ans en externat dans un grand hôpital parisien.
Subir le sexisme ou en être directement victime: c’est le quotidien de 86 % des internes de médecine (hommes et femmes confondus), rapporte l’Intersyndicale nationale des internes (ISNI) dans une enquête rendue publique vendredi 17 novembre.
Pour la première fois, le syndicat a voulu interroger les 30 000 jeunes internes pour quantifier leur expérience du sexisme et du harcèlement sexuel pendant leurs études: 2946 d’entre eux ont répondu à ce questionnaire, diffusé par les associations locales et sur les réseaux sociaux, dont 75 % de femmes et 25 % d’hommes.
Parmi les répondants, 8,6 % affirment avoir été victimes de harcèlement sexuel.
L’étude(…) confirme l’existence d’un climat pesant dans le monde médical et en particulier pour les étudiants, qu’ils soient infirmiers, médecins ou aides-soignants.

Sexism in hospitals is a massive, omnipresent and… ordinary phenomenon.

According to a survey released/made public by the national inter-union of interns/junior doctors on Friday, November 17th, being subjected to sexism or being a direct victim of it, is part of the daily life of 86% of medical interns – regardless of their gender/whether they are men or women.
For the first time, the union decided to interview the 30, 000 young interns to quantify their experience in terms of sexism and sexual harassment during their studies: 2946 of them, 75% of women and 25% of men, answered this survey, circulated by/ released by local associations and on social media.
Among the people who answered, 8.6% confirm/claim they have been victims of/suffered sexual harassment.
The study/ the poll/ the survey, confirms/certifies the existence of an unbearable atmosphere in the medical world, especially for students, be they nurses, doctors/physicians or auxiliary nurses.
